CooolSoft AVI DVD Burner

It's always better to have a video or a movie in DVD format than in AVI, Xvid or others. But creating a movie DVD may be difficult with conventional software. That's why CooolSoft's AVI DVD Burner is a good substitute when it comes to DVDs. Its main function is to convert AVI files to DVD format and burn it all on a disk.

Downloading the package may slow you down a bit if you have a weak Internet connection. The time you lose here can be compensated due to the fast installation process. Apart from a destination path and shortcuts, there are no additional settings to be made.

The interface resembles other burning software, but it's more easy to go through. There are three tabs on the main window, each with its own features, like selecting video files, converting and burning. In the first tab you can add your files either by clicking on a button or by simply clicking and dragging them in the list. This tab also features a preview area where you can play your video files. Once you're satisfied with the list you have made, you can click the Convert & Burn Now button and the process will start immediately.

The second tab lets you convert video files to DVD format without burning them. Just make sure to look at the bottom side of the window and uncheck an option that will start a burning process after the conversion is complete. In this area of the window you can also choose to convert the files in low process priority mode or shut down the computer after the process is complete. Like in the previous tab, you need to add your files to a list and click the Start button. Since the data won't be burned, you'll need to specify and output folder which can be accessed quickly by clicking the Open Directory button, beneath the Browse option.

The final tab is where you burn a DVD. You will be able to see a list with your VOB files in the upper left part of the window. A burning log and a DVD writer selection menu can be found to the right of this list. Except for an option you can check for an automatic system shut down; the only interaction you will have with this tab is clicking on the Burn button.

Before converting or burning, you can load subtitles or search for some on the Internet. Clicking the Search Subtitles option from the Files menu will bring up a window where you can type the name of the movie or just copy paste it from a dialog box from the same window. A menu will let you select a web site where the search should be performed, but the only sites you can find are subscene.com, mysubtitles.com, shooter.cm and you can't add any of your own.
